- I asked my daughter if she ever said 67. She smiled cutely and shamelessly said, “yes, 67 67 67” 😭 I’m not sure whether to recoil in the horror of nonsensical Gen Alpha memes or be proud she is part of this cultural moment.
- Speaking of ze child ^_^ There's this adorable reaction she has if I reference any of her special interests that makes me feel so soft inside 🥹 Especially if I mention her favorite fictional characters. She's been on a Gabby's Playhouse kick which is totally on brand considering how much of a cat appreciator she is.
- I saw a snippet of an interview with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis that really resonated with me. They said that they don't have arguments, they have disagreements. They felt arguments are for winning, disagreements are something to solve together. They articulated perfectly what I feel deep in my heart. That relationships of all types are also sort of creative partnership and that never should one party get their way at the cost of the other.
- Another video that spoke to me was this one about the difference between self awareness, and shame riding on intellectualization of one's feelings. I know that is something I need to work on based on how I've expressed myself.
- Autistic Barbie was announced, and I've seen a lot of takes for and against it, which I can't really relate to tbh. I don't want autistic Barbie myself, but I do feel that the fact that they are giving it a try is a huge leap for neurodivergence and uses a popular symbol to kickstart the conversations. So I don't feel at ease speaking ill of it either. If it makes at least one person smile, then hell yeah! Plus, why ick on people's yum for a toy unless the toy design really is problematic? It seems Mattel consulted with the community so there's that too. I wouldn't feel comfortable saying bad things when people are getting out there and trying.
- I am getting old because I have started to crave old lady cookies. Like Pepperidge Farm Chessmen Butter Cookies and those cookies that come in a tin but there's never any darn cookies in the tin because abuela used it to store sewing supplies (I feel this might be a rare universal truth). I'll be craving butterscotch hard candies any minute now.

‘In my experience,’ he told me, ‘if you run away from a thing just because you don’t like it, you don’t like what you find either. Now, running to a thing, that’s a different matter, but what would you want to run to?
