I finished Disco Elysium and I am proud to say that I kept on Detective Kim's good side 😎 I want to play it again one day. I blazed through it fairly quickly because there is not a mystery I cannot resist unravelling at the cost of the journey. But I want to next time bask in the ambiance and soak in more of the social commentary. And the music of course! I want to replay Paradise Killer again for a similar reason. I find myself sometimes wistful, wanting to be on Island 24 again and often play the OST when doing chores around the house. I started playing VA-11 HALL A and enjoying the vibes.
With Bad Bunny doing the Super Bowl halftime there's so much on my feed about Puerto Rico and the positive stuff warms my heart! 🇵🇷🇵🇷
I had an odd core memory unlock for the most random reason. When I was growing up we had 3 dogs... Duffy aka El Gordo, Lucky and Sebache. I remember when Lucky passed, I was in college and not living at home, but my family had gotten another dog and I couldn't remember his name. I was sad I forgot because he was a super sweet pup. But I started using a Mount Fuji eraser for my daughter's homework (it makes her feel more engaged and less cross when making a mistake). I was helping her the other day and it hit me. FUJI!!! That was our dog's name! Funny how one has memories tucked safe until something brings them out again. Also, absolutely NO clue as to how a Puerto Rican abuela came to name her dog after a mountain in Japan.
Today is an ATEEZ comeback Friday and I always have a soft spot for those ^_^ I always enjoy a relaxed workday of working on my projects. checking out the new songs and choosing my new thing to have on repeat! So far I've heard Adrenaline and NASA, like both but leaning harder toward NASA.
Speaking of music, I'm a bit indiscriminate with my tastes and adore a wide range of genres so when I saw a comment this week about being polyjamorous I was like yep!!! I like to make themed lists (cosmic is one of my favorite themed playlists I've made) but some lists are just more a melting pot of everything I've liked ever and it gets a bit random.
Current Obsessions: Murderbot, Va-11 HALL A, tomatoes. Warm out of the oven snacking cakes with extra cinnamon, cardamom, ginger. The Honey Month by Amal El-Mohtar, sapphic romance novels.
This honey tastes like winter. No—it tastes like the end of winter, but not quite spring. It tastes like those days where you can still see clumps of snow on the ground and the air is heavy with damp but it all smells so good because snowmelt is like that, the trees are black and fragrant though they’ve barely begun to bud. Refreshing; the sweetness isn’t cloying, it’s faint and gentle and almost an afterthought. My favourite so far. – Amal El-Mohtar (The Honey Month)
