1. This website reached 40,000 views. When I started it, I would have been surprised if it had reached 500 and still would have been happy and put the same love in. But I am very very very extremely grateful to have reached 40k and my heart is full. I do hope amongst my whining and processing, you gentle reader, have enjoyed your time in this space! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
  2. There was a book I read last year, Super-Cannes by J.G. Ballard that I keep thinking about. I remember rating it as two stars. At the time, I viscerally reacted to the elites victimizing people and felt Ballard went too far in glorifying it. Now I am starting to think that perhaps Ballard was simply a sort of litmus test. Who would take this face value and derive pleasure from the rot? Who would look away in disgust? Who would realize that the sharpness of the story was a condemnation? We are in an era where the reality of the depravity of elites is bubbling to the surface, as more of the Epstein files and Sean Combs' case made the headlines. A stark reminder that the people that institutionalize policies that affect the general population are literal psychopaths. There is no self optimization, meditation, or self help that can cure the cognitive dissonance of living in a culture that sacrifices the many for the few.
  3. I'm reading Network Effect (60% in so far) and I will say, the Murderbot and Perihelion/ART love arc was the romance I didn't realize I needed πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  4. Sometimes when I bake a snacking cake, I accidentally take it out a hair too soon. I get a bit sad when I notice the center of the cake deflate slightly. But that little bit of underbaked cake is sooo godly! Just a bit more gooey than the edges 😍
  5. My daughter vocally stims and the other day I was shocked when I heard her vocalizing a sound that was oddly reminiscent of the whistling sound in Jump Around by House of Pain.
  6. I heard a bird today. It was the first time I recall hearing one in a long time and it made me happy.
  7. Current Obsessions: Murderbot AND ART/Perihelion (especially ART), oh and Murderbot's drones who are oddly endearing. The new ATEEZ album, dark academia-esque classical music and watching Sammy Obeid's bits on YouTube.

Unless ART had decided to murder everybody in which case shit was going to get real. But that was also unlikely, because ART kept trying to contact me and I doubted it was planning a mass murder while also composing messages about how I was ungrateful and also wrong and being a sulky dumbass (not in those exact words but that’s what it meant) and why wouldn’t I fucking talk to it and you get the idea.
