Oversized sweaters, ratty shorts, ugly undergarments. Messy hair. No makeup. Unshaven legs and unruly eyebrows. Holes in socks and blemishes dotting the jawline. Pale, dry lips and purple hued undereyes. The armor of “ugliness”. Spiny like a hedgehog to keep the predators away.
But do predators not evolve to bypass armor and poison and spines? Some do not care about how ugly I am, how needy, how strange. Want dulls their senses until it matters not what layers must be dismantled. How easily do my spines fall! How quickly does my poison falter, my armor melt in the presence of a sweet promise!
